Why me?

I have been a parent in the Darlington County School District for the last 12 years.

I have experience working with parents, teachers, and administrators to improve the school community.  I led the Parent Team (i.e. PTO) during the Comer School Development Program at Washington Street Elementary, as well as serving as a parent representative many times during my children's time at Washington Street and West Hartsville.  

I believe in the power of public schools to better the lives of EVERYONE in our community.

I am willing to ask the hard questions to ensure we continue to gain ground toward a better future!  I applaud the efforts that have been made to improve our public schools... I believe we are in a better place than we were 12 years ago when my son started 1st grade, but we can do even better.

I don't claim to have all the answers!  I come with compassion and care for all school stakeholders - the children, their parents, school faculty and staff, school and district administration, and the community!  Through partnership we can improve the education and the experience our children have in our public schools!
